Tuesday Morning Comparison

I am going to blog what I remeber in the 2 hours of tuesday morning on all the presentations by comparing a terrible website with bbc website.

The first one is http://www.havenworks.com/

AESTHETIC APPEAL - None what so ever, No constrasting colours, No intresting text used, no use of intresting pictures.

BLACK, WHITE, GREY, SPACE - About 10% is white space about 70% is grey space and 20% is black space.

COLOUR WHEEL - There are too many colours, no thinking for colours with meaning so no yellow for happyness or black for power. No use of oposite colour contrast. Simply terrible.

PRIORITISING - Absolutely not the most important story is not highlighted at the top, it should be but it isn't. Their isn't a synopises. Theirs nothing to draw you in to a particular article.

The second one is http://news.bbc.co.uk/

AESTHETIC APPEAL - It very nice looking, it got good contrasting colours

BALENCE - It is well balenced it uses the rules of 3rds. I know because the colums take a third the large info in the middle takes roughly a third and theirs another colum on the right whihc takes another 3rd.

BLACK, WHITE, GREY, SPACE - Yes good use of it. About 3rd each theirs about 50% of White Space, about 35% of grey space and the last 15% is black.

COLOUR WHEEL - The colours are well contrasting. Its mainly blue's and whites but with a bit of red and they all work well. Its quite a cool atmosphere whihc works well in my opinion with websites.

PRIORITISING - Yes it does prioritise very well. It has the largest picture at the top with a snaposes of the miost important news case of the day then like an upside christmas tree its gets smaller as it becomes less inportant. So there is a very gooduse of prioritising.
